How hidden fields work
You add a hidden field to the form and give it a name. Then you put a value for that name in the form link, for example ?source=newsletter. When someone opens the link and submits the form, the value is saved with their answers. They never see the field.
Examples
- Record which email campaign or ad sent the respondent.
- Pass a customer ID from your CRM, so you can match the response to an account.
- Store the name of the page where you embedded the form.
Why it matters
Hidden fields add context to each response without extra questions. You can see which channel brings the best leads, and you can connect a response to a known customer.
Hidden fields in FormFlux
FormFlux has a hidden field type. You fill it with URL prefilling: add the field name and value to the form link. Parameters that do not match a field are ignored.
