How lead capture forms work
A visitor gives their details, usually a name and an email address, in exchange for something: a demo, a quote, a download, or a newsletter. The submission goes to the sales or marketing team, often through an integration with a CRM or a spreadsheet.
Examples
- A "Book a demo" form on a software pricing page.
- A quote request form on a contractor's website.
- A newsletter signup at the end of a blog post.
Why it matters
Most visitors leave a website without buying. A lead capture form lets you contact interested people later. Hidden fields and UTM parameters show which campaign brought each lead.
