Letter grades stay off unless you turn them on. They are a common US helper, not a universal scale.

How quiz scoring works
Score = (Points earned / Points possible) × 100
Per question: Score = (Sum of points earned / Sum of points possible) × 100
Percentage vs points
Points show how many marks someone got. The percentage makes quizzes with different totals comparable. 18 out of 20 and 45 out of 50 are both 90%.
Scored quiz, CSAT, or NPS
Use this calculator when answers carry points. Use the CSAT calculator for satisfaction ratings, and the NPS calculator for a 0 to 10 recommendation score.
Frequently asked questions
How is a quiz percentage calculated?
Divide points earned by points possible, then multiply by 100. In per-question mode, the calculator adds earned points and possible points across the questions first.
What do the letter grades mean?
They are a common US helper, and they stay off until you turn them on. A is 90 to 100, B is 80 to 89, C is 70 to 79, D is 60 to 69, and F is below 60. Other countries and courses use different cutoffs.
When should I use a scored quiz instead of NPS or CSAT?
Use a scored quiz when answers have correct points, such as a training check or an assessment. Use CSAT for satisfaction ratings and NPS for a 0 to 10 recommendation question.
Is this quiz score calculator free?
Yes. It runs in your browser and does not require an account. FormFlux's core form builder is free forever if you want to host the quiz.
